INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE FOR AGENTIC LIVING
AGENTIC = (of a person) focused on one's own goals and acting independently to set and achieve them, as opposed to seeking or accepting direction, serving the goals of others, etc.
Our homes can be powerful allies in helping us live with greater intention — supporting the way we use our attention, time and space, the habits we form, the relationships we nurture and, ultimately, the lives we choose to lead.

Inspired by the principles of the Japanese Tea House — presence, intention and inner connection — my work also responds to some of the pressures of contemporary life: distraction, passive consumption, overstimulation and inertia. These themes, explored furthr through the LAURA’S TEA HOUSE notes, inform an approach centred on creating spaces that foster agency, spontaneity, creativity, connection and growth.
No truly agentic design can exist without the active participation of the people who inhabit it. I see my role as a designer not as imposing a finished vision, but as supporting people in articulating their own creativity, needs, aspirations, and values allowing these to become part of the architecture. As one of my favourite architects, Giancarlo De Carlo, argued, people have been progressively dispossessed of their ability to make architecture, but they can also relearn its language through a participatory process.

Studio Luparelli approaches residential architecture and interiors as an opportunity to strengthen this sense of agency — creating homes that offer comfort without encouraging inertia, and that support autonomy, inspiration and active engagement in everyday life.
